Generators are some of the most essential pieces of equipment on any site without reliable mains power, providing standalone or backup supply for construction sites, workshops, events and industrial operations. We have a range of generators, from small 5 kVA diesel units for compact jobs to 125 kVA three-phase machines for major sites, plus hybrid generators that combine diesel with battery storage and solar to cut fuel use and noise. For generator hire or other power generation equipment, United Rentals provides well-maintained equipment, competitive hire rates, and flexible pickup or on-site delivery across Australia, ensuring your project runs smoothly and on schedule.

Learn more about generators in our FAQ section below.

What generators are available for hire?

United Rentals offers a range of generators suitable for projects of all sizes, from compact 5 kVA diesel units for small jobs to 125 kVA three-phase generators for major sites, along with hybrid generators that combine diesel, battery storage and solar. All hire equipment is well-maintained and available at competitive rates, ensuring reliable power wherever your site is located.

What's the difference between a diesel generator and a hybrid generator?

A diesel generator runs on diesel fuel alone. A hybrid generator combines battery storage, inverter technology and diesel generation into a single unit, reducing fuel use, running noise and generator runtime without sacrificing reliability.

Can a hybrid generator run on solar as well as diesel?

Yes. Our 22-44 kVA Three-Phase Hybrid Generator can connect to solar platforms alongside diesel and battery power, further reducing fuel use and generator runtime on longer projects.

Can I hire equipment for short-term or long-term projects?

Yes. We offer flexible short- and long-term hire options for projects of any size, from a single generator for an event or workshop to larger fleet hire for extended construction and infrastructure projects.

How does delivery work?

We provide nationwide support, with generators available for pickup or on-site delivery across Australia. Contact our team to confirm availability and delivery timeframes for your site.

Are your generators compliant and certified?

Yes. United Rentals is ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certified, with documentation provided as standard with every hire.
